Side event, Scaling up active mobility in Europe: the Transport, Health and Environment Pan-European Programme from Paris 2014 to Vienna 2019

In the framework of the Sixth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health (13 - 15 June 2017)

Being physically active is one of the most important steps that people of all ages can take to improve their health. In the European Region, about one million deaths annually are attributed to insufficient physical activity. Active mobility can play multiple positive effects: it greatly improves health, reduces congestion, emissions of air pollutants, noise and greenhouse gas, can contribute to new business, to job opportunities and to the prosperity of local communities.

The side event "Scaling up active mobility in Europe: the Transport, Health and Environment Pan-European Programme from Paris 2014 to Vienna 2019"  was organised by THE PEP on the occasion of the Sixth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health with the aim to highlight the importance of active mobility.
