At the Fourth High-level Meeting on Transport, Health and Environment in April 2014, governments adopted the Paris Declaration (EN,FR,RU) –“City in Motion - People First!”. The Paris Declaration enhanced the priority goals adopted in Amsterdam with a new strategic direction by including a new goal 5, “to integrate transport, health and environmental objectives into urban and spatial planning policies”. Furthermore, a new implementation mechanism “THE PEP Academy” was established in addition to the existing mechanisms – namely, THE PEP Relay Race, National Transport, Health and Environment Action Plans and THE PEP Partnerships.
